YOU CAN'T BUY LOVE, BUT YOU CAN RESCUE IT

Our Story

Pond of Love was founded by Jennifer Pond after she found a dog on the side of the road with a hook through his leg.  She rushed him to the emergency vet where they took the dog in to remove it.  Everyone fell in love with the stray, unnamed dog.  One of the employees at the animal hospital named the dog [Captain] Hook. The surgery was over $700.  Jennifer, a middle school art teacher, couldn't afford it, but she knew no other option other than to help this dog.  At 1:00 am, she picked up Hook from the vet.  When she arrived home she started a GoFundMe page to help pay for Hook's vet bills.  Within 24 hours, Jennifer had raised all of the money for his surgery.  Jennifer had always been rescuing and saving animals, but this act of generosity from others encouraged her to start a nonprofit to help save abused, sick, injured, and abandoned animals.
